OCTOBER 14 & 15, 2010
Drury Lane Conference Center, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois
Since 1978 our organization has focused on promoting multi-sensory approaches to teaching reading, math, spelling, phonology, written expression, and learning strategies. We try to continue our mission as we expect a wide range of attendees, including classroom teachers, special educators, speech and language pathologists, tutors, parents, school administrators, psychologists and adults with dyslexia.
The 2010 Annual Fall Conference will be held Thursday, October 14 & Friday, October 15, 2010. We welcome keynote speaker, Dr. Jan Hasbrouck, co-developer of the Fluency Benchmarks to lead us in using “Fluency Data the Right Way to Make RTI Work”. Dr. Hasbrouck has provided educational consulting to individual schools across the United States as well as in Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, and Germany, helping teachers and administrators design and implement effective assessment and instructional programs targeted to help low-performing readers.

William Van Cleave will be showing us how to get children excited about writing and how it makes a difference with “Writing Matters!” As a nationally recognized speaker, Mr. Van Cleave has presented across the country on teaching strategies for students with language-based learning difficulties. With a high level of enthusiasm and passion for the written word we are excited to have him as a keynote speaker.
