The Illinois Branch of IDA has a variety of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year for long term, short term, or one-time activities. Please review the opportunities below to find out more about how you can help us make a difference today!


Board Members: Job Description

Responsibilities include attendance at board and committee meetings, participation in special events, understanding and promoting the organization's mission, ensuring effective organizational planning, assuring compliance with relevant state and federal laws and policies of the national IDA, contributing financially to the branch annually as means permit, maintaining an individual membership in The International Dyslexia Association, and other tasks.

Qualified candidates should be interested in the field of learning disabilities and have professional experience in areas such as (but not limited to): accounting, management, public relations, marketing, sales, technology, law, banking, medicine, fundraising, writing, graphic design, government, education, or other fields. Parents of children with dyslexia or adults with dyslexia are especially encouraged to apply.


Administrative Assistance: Job Description

Small office of two part time staff seeking volunteers to help with data entry, phone calls, filing, photocopying, envelope labeling and stuffing and other administrative tasks. Assistance needed any time between 10am-3pm weekdays. We are flexible can can accommodate most schedules. Professional demeanor and cheerful attitude! Will train! Microsoft Word, Excel or Access computer skills a plus but not required. 


Internet Research/Data Entry: Job Description

Love to surf the web? Do it for great cause! The IBIDA office is working on research projects and can use your help. After a short in-office training, you may do this volunteer work from the comfort of your own home. Great position for students.
